Developer advocates

Developers trust the person who answered their question

Developer audiences are the least tolerant of marketing and the most responsive to a useful answer, which makes advocacy an unusually literal job: find the person stuck on the thing you know, and help. The hard part has never been the answering. It is finding them consistently without living in search.

Catch the question, not the mention

Keyword search finds developers describing the problem in their own words, including the ones who never mention your product by name. Those are the useful ones, and they are the ones a brand mention alert will never show you.

A person replying, not a brand account

Your persona comes from your own writing, so replies read like an engineer who has hit the same thing rather than support copy. On developer platforms that distinction decides whether the reply is read or reported.

You approve every technical answer

By default nothing posts without you. A confidently wrong technical reply costs more credibility than ten right ones earn, so review is not a formality here, it is the point.

Pacing that does not look like a bot

Conservative daily caps, randomized gaps between actions, deduplication so the same person is not answered repeatedly, and a warm up gate on a newly connected account. Developer communities are quick to spot automation and quicker to punish it.

Common questions

Will developers know these replies were AI assisted?
They will know if the reply is generic or wrong. Drafts are written against your own writing and reviewed by you before anything posts, so what goes out is an answer you stand behind rather than a generated guess.
Can I use it without ever mentioning the product?
Yes. Nothing requires a draft to reference your product, and on developer platforms the replies that build the most goodwill are usually the ones that do not.
Does it work outside X and LinkedIn?
No. X and LinkedIn are the two platforms Quillen connects to today, so the forums and chat platforms a lot of developer advocacy happens in are not covered.
